Autumn 2006: The Rosebud Perfume Company and Sephora have teamed up to create a fabulous New Product! Available exclusively at Sephora, Minted Rose combines our tradition rose oils with pepperment oils to create a new, refreshing lip balm!

Smith's Original Health & Beauty Products

Our flagship product is Smith's Rosebud Salve, but several other products exist as well. These products are owned and formulated by the Rosebud Perfume Company, and are 100% made in the U.S.A. (The tins are manufactured by Ball Corporation, formerly U.S. Can in Baltimore, MD. They were made by Columbia Specialty before that, but that company was bought out by U.S. Can in the early 1970's. The salve itself is prepared and poured by Case Mason in Joppa, Maryland.) Rosebud salve and Tholene and the original formulas developed by G.F. Smith, although the Red Dye in Rosebud was changed due to new federal regulations in the mid 20th century.

Since 1895, this world-famous salve has been lauded by fashion magazines, make-up artists, and celebrities as their number one preferred lip balm. In addition to being a wonderful lip moisturizer, natural-looking lip gloss and lipstick base, it is still a family favorite to aid in the relief of chapped and dry skin, blemishes, diaper rash, and detergent burns.

* Outline lips with lip liner of you choice about Ľ inches from the outside of your lips toward the center. Then use a lip brush to blend the salve to achieve a “pouty look”.
* Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite hue of lipstick to moisturize and give a “dewy effect”.
* Apply Rosebud Salve to eyebrows to tame an unruly brow line while also giving sheen.
* Rosebud Salve is great on fly-away or frizzy hair. Dab a small amount on the palms of your hands and apply sparingly to tresses.
* Use Rosebud Salve as a subtle accent to cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to moisturize or enhance.
* Apply rosebud Salve lightly to the skin above the eye as a base for powered eye shadow, and then add the desired colors you wish to dazzle your eyes with. The rich emollient properties of the Salve will help to hold that look all day.

Rosebud's second most popular product, this balm is formulated to protect and moisturize the lips, as well as cuticles and elbows from the drying effects of weather. The aroma of strawberry shortcakes attracts the young and old, alike! This balm was formulated by G.F.Smith's grandson, Allen R. Smith, Jr., in the early 1970s. The tin was designed by G.F.Smith's great-granddaughter, Linda Pruitt Michielli who has just recently formulated and designed the newest product, Minted Rose.

tholene tin Smith's Mentholated Salve (a.k.a. Tholene) (0.8 oz.)
Smith's mentholated salve was prepared by the same druggist, G.F. Smith, who perfected Rosebud Salve. The mentholated salve is a cooling salve designed to soothe minor skin irritations, especially those associated with colds, allergies, minor burns, and insects stings. (G.F.'s youngest daughter, Millie, always said that father insisted this was the best relief for the sore-red-dry-itchy nose caused by a cold)
