The Company offers a wide variety of salves to match a wide variety of preferences! Rosebud strives to keep our products as "Made in the USA" as possible. You may find general descriptions of our products on many of our reseller's websites, including Beauty Habit and Sephora. On this page, I have attempted to go beyond the standard description and add a little more personal history about the product and its creation.

Smith's Rosebud SalveThis cult-favorite, multi-purpose lip balm has been popular for over 100 years. An Old Family Standby Since 1895, this world-famous salve has been re-discovered by Hollywood stars and makeup artists. Rosebud Salve is still a favorite to aid in the relief of chapped and dry skin, blemishes, diaper rash, and detergent burns. Rosebud Salve is also a wonderful lip moisturizer and natural looking lip gloss. It moisterizes dry lips, calms and heals irritation, and soothes the sting of minor burns. Try dabbing on dry elbows or knees to condition, and relieve dryness. Also an excellent remedy for the treatment of diaper rash. The original flagship product, Smith's Rosebud Salve remains our top seller. A glossy, non-sticky, non-waxy, texture makes this balm stand out. Only a dab is necessary, ensuring that one tin lasts a very long time! Mix with lipstick for extra shine. During allergy and cold season, dab on a dry, irritated nose to relieve discomfort. |

Smith's Menthol and Eucalyptus BalmOur mentholated salve, known in the old days as 'Tholene' and later as 'Smith's Mentholated Salve' was first prepared in the late 1800s by G.F. Smith, around the same time he was perfecting Rosebud Salve. This mentholated salve is a cooling salve designed not so much as a cosmetic aid but rather to help soothe minor skin irritations, especially those associated with colds, allergies, minor burns, and insects stings. G.F.'s youngest daughter, Millie, always said that her father insisted this was the best of his products and offered unbeatable relief for the sore-red-dry-itchy nose caused by a cold. The tin design is a little bit of a mystery. No one alive in the family in the 2000's can remember a design prior to the 'original' tin, but there must have been as this 'original' tin was a 1960's style. In 2008, cousin Linda found a rejected template of the tin's very first design and used it as a inspiration to create a new, yet older, version of the tin that debuted in late 2008/early 2009. We all agree that the new 'old' tin is a vast improvement, don't you think? The new tin went first to the European distributors, as many of them had never seen the product at all. |

Strawberry Lip BalmIntroduced by G.F.Smith's grandson Allen in the 1960s, Strawberry Lip Balm is our number two seller, this product is formulated to aid in protecting and moisturizing the lips, cuticles, and elbows from the drying effects of the weather. The aroma of Strawberry Shortcake attracts Hollywood Celebrities, Skiers, and Sun Worshipers alike. |

Minted Rose Lip BalmFormulated by G.F. Smith's great-granddaughter, Linda, in early 2000's, 'Minted' Rosebud is my personal favorite of the new generation of our salves. At first I was surprised by the 'bite' of the mint, but now I love it, especially in winter. This one is a favorite with many of the family members, including my husband who finds the others too 'sweet' for his tastes. Linda designed the tin to look like the original Rosebud Salve tin from the early 1900s. |

Brambleberry Rose Lip BalmBrambleberry stands out in a number of ways. It uses natural beeswax in addition to the main base to give it a more solid - but not waxy - feel. In addition, the cover image is that of our own Vivian! Granddaughter of G.F. Smith and Executive VP of the company! This image was taken of her in the 1940s in Maryland. And she hasn't changed a bit.. |

Mocha Rose Lip BalmNEW in 2009! Our new Mocha Rose Lip Balm is a 'trade secret' blend of Essential Oils, Shea Butter and Vitamin E in a special Petrolatum base. It is infused with the coffee shop flavors of mocha, chocolate, and vanilla, and its aromatic properties practically burst out of the tin when you open it. On a historical note, mocha was first introduced centuries ago in South Yemen, where traders carried it across the Red SEa into Africa and across the Persian Gulf into Iran and other Arabic countries. It is a delicate mix of chocolate and coffee that we felt perfect for our newest salve product. |
